REVIEW

Aren't the representations of a new Patagonia—pristine and green—modes of conquest or domination of horizons that, more than realities, are dreams of an era, alchemies of power that judge what we should be and how we should behave? From the analysis of images, discourses, and desires circulating around this territory, these and other questions arise from the authors who write here.

The texts that converge here have Patagonia as their central focus, and from there they reflect on the new green or conservationist rationality and its relationship with capitalism, and how this southern territory has gone from being understood, from the paradigm of modernity, as a "land of pioneers" to currently representing a territory of "eden", scarce on earth and which, due to its exclusivity, few will be able to access in the future.

From the perspective of social and cultural geography, this book is a significant contribution to critically thinking about the economic, social, cultural and territorial processes that take place together in our country in a scenario of climate and environmental crisis.
